BEGINNINGS
Once upon a time, in a galaxy far, far away....

Or rather...
..... It all began in an old house in the leafy suburb of Kloof, in the Upper Highway of Durban.

In this beautiful old house lives a carpenter and his little family. Mr. Woodpecker's neighbour, the lovely Mrs D. has a son with 3 children. Mr. Helicopter, as he is known, wanted his children to learn how to make toys & so asked Mr. Woodpecker to teach them. Mr. Woodpecker, being a kind man, agreed and so Woodpeckers Carpentry School for Children was born! Soon many other children heard about what the junior Helicopters were doing and they also wanted to make toys for themselves. So many children have learned how to make things like Rifles, Jeeps & Trucks. Bunnies, Dolls Furniture and so much more. They have learned how to sand them, glue & screw them & paint them bright colours. Mr. Woodpeckers' assistant Eric is very helpful here as he helps with the electrical equipment that the children can't use yet. Mrs Woodpecker is a wonderful help in the painting department. All in all, a great time is enjoyed by all.

Well, soon some of the Moms & Dads decided that they also wanted to learn how to make beautiful things and so the kindly Mr. Woodpecker started teaching them as well. The adults made things that they could use, like Picture Frames, Grow Boxes, Wine Racks & Herb Racks. Some of their projects took more that one lesson like the Adirondack Chair that they made over about 5 lessons. These adults also really enjoyed themselves & had great fun while they learned how to create their masterpieces. Now it wasn't Woodpeckers Carpentry School for Children any longer but rather Woodpeckers Carpentry School. Now anyone from 4 - 40 years and older is welcome to join us and get creating

Some Moms & Dads asked if they couldn't buy toys for their children. Mr. Woodpecker thought about it and decided that it would be a good idea and now he makes toys with the help of his able assistant Eric.

I can't finish my story without mentioning the Themed Parties that Woodpeckers now do. These are a Medieval theme where they sand, paint and decorate their Swords, Shields, Daggers or Crowns and afterwards they have mock duels - fights between the knights - and everybody joins in and has a really awesome time.

The fun doesn't end here...it is going on and
We hope that you will join us soon...
